ABOUT ME

I started writing about the same time I learned I was too old to still be playing imaginary games: about the 5th grade. Writing and art became my new creativity outlets and the rest of my childhood was spent dreaming up stories, drawing characters & and scenes, and writing them to life. I finished my first manuscript draft in the 8th grade and went through the traumatic event of losing that draft when my little brick of a computer crashed... That lost-forever draft was the conception of the Mancipitas Universe and over the next 10 years, I painstakingly rewrote (and rewrote and rewrote, etc...) until I had developed not only a draft, but an entire universe with peoples, nations, cultures, histories, and lore.

By day I'm a PhD student of literature, so I write and read A LOT, but not necessarily just for fun. By night I'm a writer dreaming of someday being a published author. Although I've been writing since forever and have a couple of manuscripts under my belt (several if you count fanfiction!😉) the publishing industry is tough to make it in!  So I'm inviting you along, in part so I can get my name out there and hopefully grab a publisher's eye someday, but also because this writing life can be lonely. I need some company here!
